Meet The Artist
“Behind every pair of eyes is a mind filled with memories and thoughts belonging to a life unknown. Alike in our estrangement, as individuals we are all unique and seldom display the truths we possess inside. It is my belief that we are each apart of something larger and are destined to teach one another through our experiences. This unyielding desire to connect draws me to photograph people and their rituals; exploring relationships, intimacy, and the many facets of our individual identities. Only through awareness and compassion can we grow to see the beauty in our surroundings, and feel the power and strength of every story.”
Adriana Sánchez-Huria is a fine art portrait photographer based in Northern California. She specializes in portraiture and film photography, and is passionate to make work both captivating and sincere. Her unique approach aims to explore the many facets of human nature, and she is always willing to travel to tell new stories.
She and her husband Mohaimen are the owners of Huria’s, the catering business / takeout pizzeria in Bodega Bay, CA, and she is also the in-house photographer and designer for their joint business. From Miami, FL to NYC, she attended the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, graduating with honors and a BFA in photography, and continued to live+work in Brooklyn for nearly 10 years until her move out west in 2017. Among her many experiences as a working photographer, she has exhibited her work in group and solo shows, for several years exclusively assisted and traveled with the award-winning photographer Andrew Dosunmu, and has worked behind the scenes within the photo dept. of Fast Company magazine while living in NYC.
